IN ISOLATION celebrate the recent release of their single ‘TRAPPIST-1’ which was backed with their arrangement of the classic Bauhaus song ‘She’s In Parties’.

‘TRAPPIST-1’ reached the science team at Leige University in Belgium (discoverers of the TRAPPIST-1 solar system), who applauded this celebratory track, as did the manager at NASA’s Exoplanet Exploration Programme, who declared that, “here at NASA we are thrilled by In Isolation’s anthem!”

NORTHERN LIGHT EXPOSURE hail from London and make a special appearance for us here in Nottingham.

Wrapped up in a sound that recalls the Doves, Editors, and Echo & the Bunnymen, NLE draw them all together in to something taut, shimmering and cinematic.

    The Tap and Tumbler
    33 Wollaton Street
    NG1 5FW

The Public House Brand and Top Up Music Management are proud to present Strange Circuits at The Tap N Tumbler – Nottingham’s best Rock N Roll Bar/Venue. Support comes from two of the Midland’s best 80’s influenced alternative bands, In Isolation and Courtesan.

Strange Circuits was the first band ever signed to the legendary industrial/electronic label, Wax Trax! Their single, Industrial Living (EBR 001 A), became a cult sensation and led to the group touring Europe. Time has not lessened the group’s impact as copies of the original 7″ still sell well online and have become a collector’s item. Strange Circuits also appear on The New Wave Complex vol: 8, a compilation of 80’s underground acts

As time passed band members went on to play in other Wax Trax! acts, including Ministry. Singer/songwriter, producer Rodney Bakerr, used the experience he’d gained to open Rockin’ House Records, one of the longest running, single owner, dance music labels in the world. And working with the Roland Synthesizer Company he is credited as writing the first House music drum patterns for the 808 & 909 TR drum machines. His work is in print in the Roland Rhythm Guide book and Roland Users Group magazine.

In the 90’s Strange Circuits reunited to release new music under the name Warm Leatherette. One of their singles, Black Hair Red Lips, appeared on the Delinquent Records sampler Industrial Baby (DR016).

Strange Circuits over time has experimented with new lineups, and new music using several creative vocalists, stretching their musical sound and landscape. Rodney Bakerr aka (Rodney Baker) is also a well known, and Award winning, Fine Artist with his art being seen in several Museums including the Museum of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Support from In Isolation and Courtesan. Free Entry.

IN ISOLATION present songs from their debut album ‘A Certain Fractal Light’ along with sneak-peek performances of tracks from their forthcoming follow-up album.

The Nottingham hailing trio draw on eighties inspirations for their indie rock adventures; new wave/post punk temptations ranging from The Smiths to David Bowie, Killing Joke, and The Cult helping trigger their own imagination alongside similarly rich hues sparked by post-punk revivalist bands like Editors and Bloc Party. United they spice a sound which is emotively kaleidoscopic and engagingly unpredictable; a proposal instinctively provoking thoughts, emotions, and eager physical involvement.

Their debut ‘A Certain Fractal Light’ was awarded ‘New Wave Album Of The Year’ by The Notorious New Wave Show in Virginia, USA and tracks from the album have received numerous spins on the BBC, including national radio play on BBC 6 Music as well as several broadcasts on BBC’s ‘The One Show’.

“Just a brilliant album. I looked around to see everyone in the studio nodding in unison – not quite sure they realised they were doing that”. Dean Jackson. BBC Introducing.

YOU WANT FOX are a shot of adrenaline to the UK music scene. Hailing from Nottingham and comprising of Natalie (bass/vocals) and Colette (Drums/vocals) they formed in early 2015. The energetic duo creates a Rock music sound that is heavily influenced by pop hooks. The girls are driven by catchy melodies and clever harmonies.

Their shows are riotously entertaining – and will leave you realising that their name is very clever and you do want fox!

“Bad Girls is one hell of an entrance for Midlands duo You Want Fox. It struts in, all glamorous punk and sleazy garage, instantly leaving handprints on the memory before strutting straight out again. There’s libidinous rhythms, buzz saw riffs that work like lead guitar but make the ribcage throb as only a bass can, and a glossy lipstick sneer of a chorus. Royal Blood have some company, and this time it’s arrived in high heels.”
    Steve B, Kerrang Magazine

ZADKIEL are a four piece Alternative Rock/Indie band from Nottingham. Fronted by singer songwriter Dan Heathcote.

Described as Nirvana meets Jeff Buckley. Hauntingly beautiful vocals, psychedelic Indie Metal, darkly euphoric, apocalyptic & sensual. Blissed out alt-rock that mines the weird imagery of H.R Giger & summons the vivid power of William Blake’s Spiritual symbolism.

Since reforming in 2007, They have produced 2 EPs; Inverted Heaven and The Ethereal Fear, and their first full album Saturn Return was released in April 2011 on Nottingham Indie label Unit24 records.

Joining us in the bar area with classic Dark Edge sounds will be the fantastic DJ Daxie Sparkles.

ZEITGEIST ZERO are one of the most exciting bands in the alternative music scene. Simultaneously jaunty and jaundiced, the band combines synthesizers with the more human elements of guitars, melodic piano and passionate female vocals.

IN ISOLATION are from Nottingham, influenced by the more underground post-punk sounds of the 80s plus overground new wave artists of that era. Featuring ex-members of Every New Dead Ghost, Emma Conquest and Die Laughing, and adding influences from the angled indie sounds of the noughties and post-noughties, the band creates a sound your ears may very well want to get into bed with. They join us as special guests in support of their brand new debut album, A Certain Fractal Light.

Nottingham gothabilly duo DEATH PARTY UK complete the bill. Touring in support of debut album Hellfire Rock ‘n’ Roll Volume One, they’re fronted by guitarist/singer Trev (ENDG, Midnight Configuration, etc.) with additional vocals from Scarlet Moonchild. Points of reference include the Gun Club, Johnny Cash, the Cramps, and even some early Nephilim.

The CARPE NOCTUM club night follows, with goth, punk, industrial and post-punk tunes (and random other stuff) to keep you dancing till 2am.

Doors 7pm, first band onstage 7:30, club night 10-2am. Admission is just £5 OTD.

The Nottingham launch of the long-awaited debut album by Nottingham New Wavers In Isolation, ‘A Certain Fractal Light’.

    In Isolation
It is a fine art wearing influences openly on the sleeve whilst creating a powerfully unique and distinct sound, but a craft British band IN ISOLATION has developed and honed to attention-grabbing success since emerging in 2009.

“… a very good track (Elder Statesman) .. it’s hard to think it’s your debut album; you’ve been a band of some renown for a couple of years at least.”
    – Dean Jackson, The Beat Introducing, BBC Radio Nottingham

“Freaking real killer U.K. band In Isolation I just reviewed .. loving the production and sound ..” – Kimberly James, president CBM Records, Atlanta

“… a very smooth set that was proud, passionate, and refined to the highest degree, performed by very talented people working in perfect tandem.”
    – Cat On The Wall zine

“… the vocal from Swift has a classic kind of 80’s flavour and really helps to give the track plenty of character.” (Parlance).
    – The Musical Outcast

Support comes from two excellent Nottingham bands; Prime and Diablo Furs.

Prime are an explosive new rock band from Nottingham, England. From the same circuit that has produced such internationally renowned acts as Jake Bugg, the group has played some fantastic, edgy live shows to promote their new record. ‘Before the After’ is an 8 track mini-album (with various bonus tracks) that displays the dynamic variety of Lee Heir, Dan Ryland and Chris Munton, be it on punky numbers like ‘Teen TV’ and ‘Take Me To Your Crew’, the riffy Britpop style guitar-fests of ‘Silly Billy’ and ‘Like the Weather’, or more dark, downbeat songs like ‘Same Old Story’ and ‘Flatline’.

    Diablo Furs
Nottingham’s Diablo Furs are the snotty, brattish grandchild of The New York Dolls and Richard Hell. Their fuzzy guitars, aggressive vocals and abrasive fuck you attitude are a breath of fresh air unpolluted by any computer aided trickery or artificially generated beats. Black Mirror Girls 1973 and Wytches sound like tight leather trousers, ripped t-shirts and a cigarette dangling nonchalantly from their lips.
